Hello! Thank you for finding my page. I hope you enjoy some of my favourite work.
I’ve always loved drawing, art and photography. The landscape where I live in North Wales has been a great inspiration, but my interest in animation really grew when I started developing characters, their backstories and short clips with online friends. My art is a mix of both digital and traditional technique.
For 3 years my focus was the WarriorCats community, and I have been able to earn online currency and real money by drawing commissions of other members’ characters under my pseudonym OakHeart. This has been a lot of fun but has meant that learning how to draw humans is a work in progress!
I’m often inspired by sounds, music or film dialogue to create an animated scenario, and I pride myself in getting the lip synching just right!
Working at a riding stables and watching both horses and their riders has helped me improve my knowledge of timing and movement, and led me to admire Edward Muybridge’s photography of motion.
My understanding of how to create atmosphere with sound, light and space has changed a lot over time, especially as I’ve been able to visit the Royal Shakespeare Company and other theatre productions, and I’m hoping to include this in my GSCE drama.
While I’m not quite sure exactly what I’ll do in the future, I’m sure that it’ll be in the world of online animation or design.
